Episode Synopsis:

Lex says his farewells and heads away for a week - into the caves beneath Langborn Manor. In his absence, Petra is talked into throwing a surprise birthday party for Nick. Cass gets in on the ground floor and sets up Candy to be the distraction.

Simkiss is in town hunting a vamp named Taresh Ghul, and he fills in the crew about the treasure hunt - ancient secrets for telling the future hidden by Augustus Langborn centuries ago. A goofy demon named Terrence is discovered spying and locked in the attic. Candy trains Nick in self-defence, and they end up in an awkward clinch before news breaks that the surprise party has unwelcome visitors - demons.

Up at the party, while Black Orchid play, Cass tries to keep a lid on things and Petra has it out with Candy over the unresolved issues with Nick. The party demons play it cool, and no fight breaks out - until Max's date, Thea, reveals herself to be an infiltrator and locks Nick in a room with Candy. As the rest of the Slayers battle the thuggish party demons and the vicious Thea, Nick and Candy uncover a shocking surprise - Lex Madsen, his mind apparently broken. It appears that Augustus Langborn is back...

Trivia and Notes:

  • A more light-hearted ep in some ways, while in others (particularly for poor Candy) it was still pretty stressful. The return of fan-fave character Blake Simkiss, ovaltine-loving mercenary, was received with much excitement.
  • Scott (Zak) discusses the episode on his livejournal
