The school year begins, and Cass, Cynth and Zak are assigned mentors in the form of teachers new to the school. But the teachers are based in the haunted West Corridor, and seem to have secrets of their own. Cynth, Zak, Max and Lolly work on their band, while Cass's company is sought by the school's reigning queen Stephie. But when two students report a close encounter in a maintenance hall off the West Corridor, it's time to get the Slayers East back together...

With Brian directing, the group enchant a snakeskin to reveal the true form of a concealed demon, and two of the three mentors are revealed to be horrible Mallikesh demons. The pair of them are destroyed, and the innocent drama teacher Ms Preston manages to escape the experience unharmed. school's back in - and it seems like the supernatural is coming back to a boil in Exeter.

Trivia and Notes:

• This episode reintroduces a number of old cast-members - Max, Lolly, Stephie, Troy and Alister. Events have moved on for all of them. Max has apparently stepped back from the supernatural-fighting, and apparently a long-term relationship with Cynth has recently ended. Lolly has been unseated as Queen Bee by Stephie, and now Lolly is hanging with the Slayers crew - although still in ignorance of the supernatural. Most dramatically, Troy and Alister have become estranged!
• A cut line of dialogue, meant to be delivered by Mr Lowell, went: "Did you notice 'mentors' is an anagram for 'monster'?"
