Episode Synopsis:

John, isolated at school, delivers a message to Candy and notices a new teacher is wearing an occult symbol around her neck. As Candy and Cynth try to figure out where they are at with Christian and Max, John investigates, with Zak falling in beside him.

All four are drawn into the investigation as Miss Russert's 'spirit guide' is revealed as a malevolent being from the deep recesses of the earth, manipulating her into bringing about the emergence of his race. The final confrontation happens in the gymnasium, where a great spiral traps them and they only barely manage to resist the dark elves' rise.

Alison discovers that CC and Zak know Candy's secret. This is unacceptable - being the friend of a slayer is too risky. She tells John what he must do to make sure they are safe - cut Candy off from them, forever.
